Weak
This is a feeble attempt to theatricalize one of the greatest movies ever made. The cast is quite good, but is forced into a strange amalgam of several different versions. The Royal Shakespeare script has enormous liabilities. Why anyone would want to "improve" the screenplay is beyond imagination.
The choreography for every number is as fresh and exciting as Cubby and Annette's dancing on the Mickey Mouse Club. The exception is The Jitterbug that is performed by bugs that look like cats. The Poppies/Snowflakes is the only new material that displays creative imagination.
I feel bad for the cast of singers and dancers. I hope they all find employment in a more legitimate Broadway production. They are much better than the material, staging, direction and production.
